Now is the time to register for the Drones & Aerial Robotics Conference.
As we inch closer to the 2015 deadline for integrating unmanned aerial vehicles into civilian skies, DARC is the first-of-its-kind, massively multi-disciplinary event examining civilian drones and their impact on society. The conference schedule features an exciting lineup of speakers from a wide spectrum of backgrounds. The agenda includes four keynotes and over 20 lightning talks exploring the drone phenomenon from myriad perspectives, including talks from Dr. Vijay Kumar (UPenn GRASP Labs; White House OSTP director for robotics and cyber physical systems), Chris Anderson (founder of 3D Robotics), Henri Seydoux(founder of Parrot), Missy Cummings (former Navy fighter pilot and director of the MIT Humans and Automation Lab), Daniel Suarez(author of Kill Decision), Michael Toscano (President and CEO of the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International),Ryan Calo(University of Washington School of Law), Catherine Crump (ACLU), Stuart Banner (UCLA School of Law), Ed Waggoner (NASA), and Robbie Hood (NOAA), to name just a few.
DARC also features over 20 workshops, working groups, and roundtables covering a broad range of topics, ensuring something for everyone, but also emphasizing the interdisciplinary focus of the conference: aerospace engineers will help inform legal conversations; legal experts and policy advocates will experience drone technology first-hand; government officials will be exposed to the larger cultural conversations occurring around the technology they are tasked with regulating.
